Chicago's programme was decommissioned on 1 November 2019 after federal grant funding of $3.8 million.
The Chicago Police Department used risk models known as the Strategic Subject List and the Crime and Victimization Risk Model, designed to predict the likelihood a person would become a 'party to violence'. CPD told the Inspector General in August 2019 that it intended to decommission the programme and did so on 1 November 2019.
